Nine Ways to Promote Dive Travel
Adventure Scuba Company owner Scott Evans’ next Galapagos trip is not until September of 2005. Nevertheless, the trip is full and there is a waiting list forming. How did he do it?
- When Scott visited the Galapagos this June, he took his video camera with him and got as much above- and below-water footage as possible. This was edited into an 18-minute promotional video for the trip.
- A few weeks ago, Scott chartered a bus to take a group of his customers to Lake Rawlings in southern Virginia. The bus had an on-board video system, so Scott took advantage of the opportunity to show the video on the way to the lake. By the time the bus arrived, Scott had commitments to fill the remaining six spaces on the Galapagos trip — plus two spaces on his October trip to Grand Cayman.
Promoting dive travel isn’t difficult. As Scott’s example shows, you just have to use your imagination and be willing to make the effort.
