Coordinating with the Dive Operator
As soon as possible after arriving, meet with the dive operator. (This is something you will want to set up ahead of time.)
- If possible, arrange for the dive operator to conduct a briefing for your group members before the first morning of diving (this is largely standard procedure on liveaboards). The operator should use this opportunity to discuss schedules, procedures and any special requirements your customers will need to follow. Doing so can help prevent delays and misunderstandings.
- Depending on the destination and dive operation, you may need to work with the dive operator to establish a schedule and list of dive sites for your group.
It’s a good idea to schedule a pre- or post-dinner meeting with your group the afternoon or evening of your arrival. Not only is this a good time for the dive operator to give his or her briefing, it will also enable you to discuss issues that could not be addressed at the pre-trip meeting.
