Sending E-Mail From the Website
As was discussed in the companion article Top Ten Mistakes in Dive Store Website Design, you want visitors to be able to send you e-mail directly from your website. What you want to avoid, however, is use of “Mailto:” links, which can make you vulnerable to spammers and may frustrate website users.
The better choice is to use an e-mail form, such as the one appearing on our sample website.
Doing so offers a number of potential benefits, including a more comfortable user experience, reduced vulnerability to spam and the ability to gather additional information, such as where your visitors are coming from.
