Quick Links to Other Information
While information such as address, phone numbers and store hours can easily fit at the top of your home page, the answers to other commonly asked questions cannot. These questions may include:
- Do you teach people to dive — and if so, what’s involved ad how much does it cost?
- What equipment do you sell, rent and service?
- What trips, charters and activities to you offer?
While your website’s navigational structure should make this information easy to find within two or three mouse clicks, you can make the site even more effective by providing visitors with a means to find the answers they need with just a single click.
Our sample website shows one way to do this. At the top of the page are three paragraphs labeled Get Certified, Get Equipped and Go Diving. Each paragraph is filled with hyperlinks that provide single-click access to information on learning to dive, buying and renting equipment, and group travel. See example.
These key paragraphs do more than just help visitors quickly find the answers they need. They also help ensure that key words and phrases are strategically placed on the home page where search engines such as Google and Yahoo! can find them.
