What is Foam Core?

Foam core is the generic name for mounting board made from a layer of styrofoam sandwiched between two layers of poster board-like, cardboard stock. It is available in a variety of sizes and colors. There are even self-adhesive versions with a “peel and stick” surface on one side.

Foam core mounting products are readily available at most large art- and office-supply stores. They help create a backing surface for signs that won’t bend or curl. They also help create a three-dimensional look for signage that is both clean and professional.
